The gaming world has evolved over the past four decades in such a way that it has changed the way we play and experience digital entertainment. To celebrate Gamer Day, Globant held the ‘Globant Gamer Experience,’ an event that brought together video game enthusiasts, prominent figures from the gaming world, and journalists to enjoy a multisensory experience, where different generations experienced the technological evolution of gaming.
The Globant Tower building served as the setting for this event, which combined networking with sensory experiences. During the networking session, gaming industry leaders participated: Kevin Janzen, CEO of Globant’s Games & Edtech Studio; Luchi Quinteros and Frankkasterx from 9Z Globant; and Emilio González Moreira as a special guest.
Gaming fans attended the talks and were also able to enjoy the Retro Game Experience, a tour that showcased the technological evolution of various games, bringing together kids and adults through titles that marked several generations.
Our AJ PR team supported Globant in promoting its leadership in gaming development in Argentina and the region by managing notes and interviews, as well as accompanying industry journalists along with their children and nephews during the Retro Game Experience.
The gaming industry has changed dramatically since the local arcade classics of the 80s and 90s. Then came microcomputers like the Sinclair ZX Spectrum or the Commodore 64, and later, game consoles burst into homes, such as the Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and PlayStation. Today, with smartphones, we have a wide array of video games at our fingertips. During the event, Globant provided details on the growth of gaming. According to projections from the international consulting firm Statista, the video game market in Argentina will record revenues of US$1.78 billion in 2025, demonstrating that video games are one of the cultural industries with a significant impact on the economy.
